Well, I have been saving up money and stocking up on parts over the last several months (still waiting on my Ebay side license plate mount). Finally got the new fender, turn signals and Burly Slammers on. Used PC'd stand offs. Mail ordered the gloss black strut covers, but one arrived scratched all to hell, so I returned both. Glad I did. The struts cleaned up well with some cleaner wax, and I like the look.
BTW the 7" headlight is from a Fat Boy.
The weather man is saying sunshine and upper 40's this weekend, so I'm hoping to get some ride time in.
I'll be listing the old fender, strut covers, nut brackets, turn signals, stand offs, and stock shocks in the classifieds later tonight.
Looks great. Did the same to mine. What did u do with the signals. You said something about PC'd standoffs? I used a bolt from the inside of the fender but don't care for the look of the wires hanging out.
I found 2 PC'd gloss black standoffs on the classifieds here for cheap ($15 shipped, about 1.5 inches wide). I made rubber "gaskets" that matched the footprint of the standoffs, and tightened the standoffs down with a properly-sized bolt. The rubber fills in the gap between the bare strut and the standoff.
Oh yea, I used a cut-off wheel on my Dremel tool to cut off the small alignment nubs on the strut cover sides of the standoffs and sealed the steel with black rust oleum.
Looks great! We have some pretty similar mods, including the headlight. I moved my headlight up and back a little bit using the HD headlight mount. I think it flows better overall that way. Let me know if you're interested and ill dig up the part number.
