We changed my bolts too. Such a small cost compared to the engine rebuild, might as well do it to save frustration the next time thing are taken apart.
Wow this build is gonna be sick! That sucks about the damage. I know this is a little late, but it could possibly help out if you ever want to send a motor out in the future, or anyone else for that matter. I know these build threads get a lot of traffic. Been sending my quad motors out to different builders for years in these things, they are about the best protection I've found so far.
I checked the rotor-stator clearance today and roughly measuring I'll have .050+ between the 2 (it's hard to see in the picture but there's an area that sticks out further on the stator), seems like I should be good to go on that. At a stand still on the primary without the clutch so I'll get some new stator bolts tomorrow and and get the inner primary on
As far as the timing cover, you think I should PC it black or leave it? I kind of like the contrast

Older street bob timer cover is black around the outside. That would give it a little more black but still have the silver contrast in the center. I'll see if I have one laying around.
Was thinking of doing something truly radical. Who could make a bottom end for a Pratt & Whitney 2800? The cylinders have a 5.75" bore and 6" stroke. That makes a "311" v-twin. Supercharged, it should make some good power.
Probably need a frame a bit bigger to house such an engine. Gonna need some carburation too....a lot! Maybe a Holley 780 with vac secondaries?
Tranny by Muncey? LOL!
