that would depend on if you are running AFR'S between 14.3- 14.7 in the cruise area you would benefit from the narrow band sensors taking into consideration elevations changes, fuel, etc the ecm will fine tune the VE tables to maintain those set AFR values in that closed loop area. If running outside the closed loop in cruise area just eliminate the 02 sensors .
correct, but a big motor with a good tune shouldn't be 14.3-14.7 ever imo.
Mine hates closed loop and it's only 95inch. I would say to run open loop why not? I look at it this way. On an evo or shovel if it was running anywhere near 14.4 you would have said that is extremely lean. So why do we want those conditions on a twincam? After all who gives a **** about fuel mileage. It ain't a Prius
Forgive me but I thought with the TTS or other tuners you trick the bike into thinking it's around 14.6 but really it's down to 13 or so with the offset and the O2's act to keep it there.

That is what I thought but as Dan Thayer explained to me at cruising speeds there is no real load on the engine so why throw all that extra fuel into the cylinders its just washing the cylinders down for no purpose engine stays cleaner Dan tunes a lot of the big engines making big power and also tunes bikes that race on the salt flats setting records he has 124 cid engines making 145-150 hp getting around 50 mpg on the interstate at cruising speeds so I left my as he tuned it in the cruise area
I've heard that there is 4 gallons go gas in the lines between the pump and the tip of the handle. If that is the case, we almost never get the premium we pay for. Only if the guy just before us happened to be pumping premium... Don't know how true that is...
It's false. With an 8' product hose, it'll hold about a half gallon of product.
Now, what you say about getting the octane you paid for, you do have a point. I used to go to stations and wait for a BMW or Merc driver to fuel with premium, only to find out they usually put regular too!
It's the head gasket.. Looks like I'll have something to do tomorrow. How do you guys torque down the mls gaskets? Torque or torque and turn?
I torque them per cometic's instructions, but I go through the final torque repeatedly til they seem to stop moving. It had MLS on it? Is it actually blown?
It was hard to see since the oil is still pretty clear but there's a small amount of oil on the backside of the rear jug. Makes perfect sense now, it stopped making the noise when it heated up because the cylinder expanded enough to seal back up. I'll take some pics when I have it apart. I'm excited to pull the tank again, I love smelling like gas haha
