Hello All
Finally got a chance to sit and upright a new Street Bob at my dealer today.
With a left leg prosthesis I was worried but it went very well.
(the Street Bob is the lightest Big Twin and the mini apes gave good leverage!)
My problem is I cant reach the jiffy stand to retract it.
I seem to remember my old Softail's stand was more forward. I know Harley has jiffy stand extensions but these may still be too far back for me
I would appreciate any suggestions
Many thanks
Dante
The Dyna kick stand( Jiffy) is the worst design. It should be welded to the frame instead of coming from underneath. Have no idea why Harley does not re design. I know they are aware of it, but probably it will cost to much . To bad.
They are some minor fixes including and extension tab on the end , and judicious grinding the tab on the shaft of the stand and grinding the detent under the frame. Check out the procedures on the forums. Maybe some one can weld a stand from a road king or V rod.
The bike is a good bike, but just a few changes would make it great-- dual front brakes and kick stand. Maybe before you buy check out the new Low Rider. If I had to do it again would buy the Low Rider--- not available when I bought my bike.

The softails are a piece of cake, compared to the dyna. Maybe the dealer would bolt one of the extensions on so you can try it. If it doesn't work, maybe you can get ideas on how it would work with a little bending. http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...FYNDaQodmVAAFg
Many Thanks for taking the time to help. There are some neat solutions
on You Tube using a PTO truck cable but I will try the biggest jiffy
stand extension I can find first
