Default Hesitation or feels like it died

Was out for a ride on backroads yesterday. Hammered on bike once through first and second then let off. All seemed normal then twisted throttle and bike balked or seemed to die. Let off throttle and it ran. Bike did this a couple times then picked up and took off like normal. After that noticed once in a while it would hesitate in second around 2200 to 2300 rpm at a steady state. I'm running a FP3 with K&N intake and a set of Rinehart slipons. Anyone else have this experience? Any advice? Thanks in advance.

That (intake seals) was a common maintenance item on my Sportster, replacing them every two-three years was cheap and just good preventative medicine. Don't know about EFI but carbed bikes would run like **** if there was any sort of intake leak, AFR way out of whack. Thanks for the reminder, another item on my winter to-do list.

I would check all of your electrical connections, esp. the battery..maybe something is loose somewhere

I had a Sportster before this bike and totally different hesitation. Gas is fresh had just filled up before riding. Thinking about trying a different map on the FP3 after I check connections and such. Acts like it's not getting fuel to me.

MAP sensor is another potential culprit. If it fails to deliver the proper signal your ignition will not advance as needed - result is loss of power. My Sporty had this trouble as well. You can save a few bucks buying one at your favourite auto parts store, you'll need to do the cross reference though.
