Default Brake pad question

Could use some input on front brake pads for my 06 Lowrider. Bought the bike 3 yrs ago with low mileage so she's probably got her original shoes. Never was happy with the stopping power so I'm actually glad the pads finally need to be replaced. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I use Lyndall or EBC pads. I would also suggest cleaning the calipers, lubing the pins the pads ride on (replace pins if rough), and since you have never liked the feel a good fluid flush and bleed may do wonders. All the Dyna's I've had would lift the rear tire if I chose to. In my not so humble opinion, GOOD brakes are more important than engine performance.

Already flushed the system and will definitely clean and inspect the calibers. Nice to hear a Dyna can have stopping power. I've read some threads that said they all don't stop well.

Yea I've read the same BS. All I can say is brakes are brakes and if they're bled properly, calipers positioned properly in reference to rotors, pistons cleaned , master-cylinder working right they should be more than you need.
97FXDL Single Caliper & 96FXDL Dual Caliper both would lock if needed, even the 80FXB Dual Caliper will lift the rear tire, as will most of my Harleys. Well never tried it on the Ultra, but it will lock up.

EBC or Lyndall along w/ fluid flush would be my choice as well. I actuall just flushed the front and rear along w/ new Lyndall Gold+ pads front/rear. Also, added goodridge all black stainless line in the front and rear while I was at it. Should be a huge improvement.

I'm currently running the EBC V-Pad. Best I've had so far.

Thanks for the quick replies. Ordered the EBC pads. Probably should have ordered for the back also even though they are still good, and yes I use my back brakes together with the front when braking. Put a set of Night Dragons on . That's when I noticed the front pads. Wished I had done the front tire first. Oh well, not taking the back apart again. . Hope this snow and ice goes away soon so I can test out all my upgrades. She also got cams and some Works shocks. Thanks again and stay safe.

Not a big job, but since you have snow and ice. Take the calipers completely off, disassemble them clean, and reassemble. I have had a couple of bikes with brakes problems and found the previous owners had mixed Dot-4 & Dot-5 which will make a Jello like goo in tour lines and calipers and greatly reduce the effectiveness.
Get them right, wish the best and in a few weeks roll out with confidence.
