Now I know you get what you pay for but I'm on a very tight budget and need new tires for my street bob. What is the best cheap tire I could get front and rear
Shinko 777 without a doubt. Value priced and sticky so not exactly a high mileage tire but a great value on a 'performance' tire. Good looking tire too.
BTW, Shinko was the old Yokohama motorcycle division.
Another vote for Shinko, but like said mileage sucks, but they grip and handle great.
That said though, a better tire that may cost more up front, but will be cheaper in the end because you'll get more miles out of it. Easy to shop around for a great price online as well, most places have free shipping on tires.

On a Honda shadow 750 (150lbs lighter than my street bob) and not much tire shredding power, I got 4500mi out of a 777 rear with mostly commuting and some joy riding.
Cheap tires? Seriously? With only about 4 square inches holding you in the corners, I would want the BEST tires! This is not your mother-in-laws Honda Civic.

I think he means good value tires, tires with a low "cheap" cost but good overall quality.
Not overall cheap tires, with cheap quality and price.
And for performance, it's hard to beat a Shinko price wise if you can deal with the low mileage. The 777 is great in the rain and grippy or corners.

You sound like someone who goes to the dealer and pays $400 for a $100 tire and thinks it's better because you paid more for it. And if you were to do your research you might find out that the Shinko is a better traction tire than whatever it is that you are using.

Nope, not at all smart guy. And I swear by Metzeler's.
