When I bought my bike, the front was sagging so much the front header was touching the frame. After reading the bad reviews of the stock mount, and previous experience with the rubber on my Sporty... there was no way I was paying for OEM motor mounts if there was any aftermarket equivalent available.
I lucked on my timing with the VT mount just becoming available, and after the preliminary reviews I was sold. Anything's better than the OEM crap as far as I'm concerned.
Understood thanks John, it certainly seems like it's better than stock (as so many after market items are), just wondering if it made such a positive difference to comfort/stability for an average person to replace the OEM at any given time.

I guess that depends if your bike is getting bad vibrations from old OEM rubber. If my ride had good (newer) mounts I probably would have put this off a couple years, there are other things it needs. This was a priority so it got addressed first.
If you have spare money I would say do it, if you're average like me, then you need to prioritize your maintenance and then upgrades. Sometimes, like with this product you can have your cake and eat it too.
I did the Vibra-Technics front mount last season....put a few thousand miles in it since and I'd say its a great product. I would buy another in a heartbeat. The improvement was immediately noticeable. Well worth the money....install is a snap too.
No complaints after 8 months ownership. Only problem I did find is a really annoying chirping sound on idle, which I eventually traced to the voltage regulator connector holder (plastic) rubbing against the VT mount. I've got a front spoiler fitted though, which is probably the cause of it. A quick cable tie application and all is quiet again.
What kind of mileage are you getting before seeing your OEM mounts start to get mushy?
7200+ miles, mine went south. There is no known mileage for them to go bad, you just have to keep an eye on them. If you feel more vibration then normal, check the mounts. If the front exhaust pipe is hitting the frame when you brake, check the mounts. That's how I found out mine were bad.
Can anyone comment about using the Vibratech mount with an oil cooler that installs off the front engine mount? It looks like it should not be a problem. My mount is ruined although I have shaved it a couple of times for some extra life. The True Track certainly helps a lot too.
Had my VT mount for a year now - only complaint I have is the fasteners are all corroding - but then I do ride year round, and I'm sure the winter salt is the culprit here. Replacements may be a little tough to find (metric) so I'll probably clean them up as much as practical and spray them with some rust paint after re-installing. The bottom mounting block was also bare aluminum and could also be an oxidation problem, this I had coated with paint before installation, though powder coat would be a better solution.
