You were averaging a good clip to do that in 11 hrs.
How did those apes feel? I've been tossing around the idea of installing some, but afraid to pay the cost to test them out....
The only time we were off the bikes was when we were fueling them up. The apes were never a problem for me. My lower back and legs hurt.
My longest is around 1200 miles, I have did a trip that consisted of 3 1000+ mile days in a row. I love my Dyna, gonna be mine for a long time, she is mine free and clear now!!
ive only done 500 or so in a day, but it took us 10-11 yrs to do it sightseeing going slow.....you set up the bike... comfy seat and windshield and backrest and it goes as far as any other tour bike difference..... fixed bags vs a bag you throw on the back and thats it... you dont need a tour bike to tour, thats ridiculous
Is that the air zepplin seat from the MOCO? it looks pretty sweet.
Did 1100 miles in 23 hours (iron but ride) on a 1200 sportster when I had it. Windshield, highway pegs, and a decent seat are a must for me on long trips.
I can tell my new FXDB will be even better for long distances. Definitely don't need a bagger to be comfortable on the long hauls. Just have to set your dyna up right!
Wouldn't many many fast miles be a "farthest ride in a day"? Longest ride to me is how many hours in the saddle...
I've done my 1000 mile day years ago; have a friend that does it on his BMW still at 60, but he's in very good shape, too.
I'll spend 10+ hours on the road in a day now; that's long for me...
A few years ago did 400+ miles of fairly curvey 2 lane in under 8 hours on a 2001 Sporty...no windshield and a half helmet. Ears were ringing and face burning thru the night after that ride

That's a good point. Long hours add up quicker than long miles.
