I don't know i've only rode the street bob without a screen ,, That why i'm after opinions ,, plus 100 on screens though , both my current bikes have screens on and for long journeys i would'nt do without them .

I currently ride a rocket tourer , thats my long journey and my 2 up bike for when the wife comes out ,but problem is she loves to go into the city along the foreshore, and hit the coffee shops , and my rocket is to big and heavy ,
, i also have a 650 v strom , which is the bike i use to play in the hills , when i'm in the mood .

So i'm really sort of thinking the low rider could be a one bike does all

Probably not too much. They are essentially the same bike, but I prefer tubeless tires, dual front disks, standard handlebars, a tach, and passenger provisions. All the upgrades the LR has that the SB doesn't.

Cool setup on your LR. If I didn't already have the FLD, I'd probably go this route.

OP, having an FLD, IMHO it handles better than some of the other Dyna's I've test ridden (Fat Bob, Street Bob, Super Glide/Custom). It also comes with the hard bags, floor boards and windshield. However, I found the stock screen didn't work and had to be replaced. Also, the FLD has a lot of proprietary parts. If you're not going to replace a lot of stuff, this shouldn't be an issue. However, for certain brands of seats, exhausts and what not, it can be an issue. The FLD has 41mm forks, while all the other Dynas have 49mm forks. I'd LOVE to get preload adjusters for my bike, but they don't exist. I happen to love my bike, but would also look hard at the Low Rider if buying new. Love having the floor boards without the heel/toe shifter. Allows for lots of leg positioning.

I think both the LR and FLD will scrape through turns at about the same angle. I believe stock shock length on both is 12". I'm having 13" Hagon Nitro shocks built for my setup. Along with a more controlled and plush ride, I think the slight extra ride height should help get me over a little more in the turns. Coming off a Suzuki SV1000S, handling was a concern on the FLD. Stock, it was better than I would have thought. I took my bike to the Dragon this past summer and while I did scrape in most of the turns, it handled well. Again, a shock change with longer height/travel would go a long way for both the LR and FLD.
