I have been noticing the clunk when you go from neutral to first seems louder. Any suggestions as to what oil and which hole to reduce the clunk.
I have also noticed when the bike gets really hot reciently in traffic it is hard to shift . I have Red shock in the trans. And Amsol in motor and Del Ray in the primary. The only change was in the last oil change I went from V twin to Red in the transmission. I do have an oil cooler and fan.
Thanks,
Roger
adjust the clutch while the motor is at operating temperature and ride the hell out of it...Led Zeppelin sang about it....The Clunk Remains The Same!..the only real fix for the clunk is louder pipes!....which also takes away the anxiety of listening to the engine sound like it's about to fly all to hell in pieces,,,,IT WON'T

I had the same issue a while back. When I replaced the transmission oil with RedLine Shockproof (as recommended by many on here) it was fixed! That stuff is awesome! It's as smooth as silk now and the best part is that it's not that much more in price to get it. J&P Cycles has a discount typically, if you're the Gold Club member.
I've found a 3/4 turn on the clutch adjustment screw works best for me, I like to practice slow speed motor officer exercises and the friction zone is a touch closer to the grip but still fully able to release.
Look at different fluid options for the primary and transmission, I use a combination of Valvoline SAE 30 in the primary and Valvoline 85w-140 gear lube in the transmission and coupled with a properly adjusted clutch have no clunking into first and shifting is snicky-smooth
I switched from amsoil 20 W 50 to amsoil severe gear 75 W 90 but I didn't hear a difference until later when I did oil change no 2 with the same and now I do notice a more silky quieter transition. Heck maybe it's just me but by my second quart of 75 w 90 it does sound smoother. (redundancy check I know)
Mine goes "clunk" every time I put it in first gear. Except once, when I rode up to Canada. When I crossed the border into Quebec, it began going "clunque". I think they have a law about it, or something.
