I just received my fairing yesterday. The question I have for you guys.....wiring.
I would like to tie into the ignition switch but I have never pulled the cover off on my 08 Fat Bob.
Can someone please help me with which wire to tap into so that my stereo will go off with the ignition switch?
Thanks Guys.
Check the socket where your head lights plug into inside the neck. It should be a four connector plug, the light side should have three wires, ground, low and high. The bike side should have four wires, the three mentioned for the light and the forth is an acc (orange w/ white stripe) wire which is switched on with the ignition. you can pick up some wire and a pin and plug it into the light side of the connector and go from there to wire power your setup.
Just got my Conely's FXDXT fairing. Anyone have pics of the install. the instructions are a little vague. Maybe some pics of the fairing mounted on the inside.
Thx

I installed the Conely's Wide Glide fairing on my Fat Bob a couple months ago. It came with 2 brackets, I had to drill the holes in the fairing and just bolt it on. It was pretty simple and I think it looks pretty decent. I used a street bob stock headlight in place of the dual set up that comes on it.
I was worried the 2 brackets wouldn't be strong enough, but haven't had a problem yet.
I'm still thinking about painting the lower part of the fairing denim black to match the rest of the paint.
here is my fairing on my 2015 wide glide. im not sure what brand it is, i bought it used and they didnt know. it was already painted and it matches the factory silver pin stripes. it appears to be a conleys fairing. i still need to make some adjustments on the fit and waiting for my new turn signals.
How are you guys installing the mini v-rod, night rod fairings? I dont have the headlight eyebrow to bolt mine on to so its just held on by zip ties. Andy cool tricks?
I have one of the JD Fabs FXDXT anti-buffeting windshield spacer kits if anyone is interested. $30 shipped never installed only opened. More info here http://jdcustomsandfabrications.bigcartel.com/product/big-fish-products-windshield-ventilation-kit-for-jd-custom-fxdxt-fairings
Subscribed, I am going to first repair, paint and then install an FXRP fairing on my 07 streetbob.
All I need to get is one light turn signal lens and a pod.
2008 FXDC with DS 14" T-Bars, Rinehart 2 into 1, V&H Stage 1 intake MS Gauntlet Fairing.
I am not a big fan of the gauntlet fairing. It does take the wind off your chest, but puts the wind right into your eyes. It fine if you are under 60mph. But bad over that. I am debating changing to a T-Sport fairing, or adding the Laminar Lip. Any thoughts??
