sold! Going to be ordering everything in the next 2weeks just waiting on some cash .. I've always measured center axle to the pin holes in the swingarm. Use a wire hanger with a 90 and a piece of shrink wrap to slide up and down .. as far as spacing I've read multiple post that said 7/8 spacer for the newer bikes. Think all my research is done just have to do it now .. glad I researched it so long because I kept changing my mind and picking new parts.. monster does your chain lay on the slider when your in neutral?
Buy an alignment laser, the holes in the swing arm are not true. I'm convinced that's one of the main contributors to the infamous dyna wobble. The laser chain alignment tools are a cheap pickup on Amazon. Since I went to chain drive and aligned it with a laser, my bike is rock solid well over 120. It would consistently get upset over 100 before that when I aligned with the swing arm holes. With a 25t front sprocket and 13" shocks my chain is damn near touching the slider with the bike on the stand. You gotta remember that when you put your weight on the bike, there's much more clearance. I have almost 10k on the chain drive and the slider is barely scratched.

your the man! pretty much cleared up everything I wanted to know , thank you!
I now have mine all finished up and got it out for a short spin yesterday for the first time since the belt stripped last June.
The 112 link endless 530 chain worked a treat with the 25/55 sprocket combination and I took Monster715 's advice and bought an alignment laser to get everything trued up probably for the first time in the 10 years I have owned the bike, the alignment holes are way out.
The bike rides great just as well as it did with the belt, and the lower gearing allows it to pull through the gears really easily, even on the short run that I took I could see that the speedo was reading way faster than I was travelling but I can live with that once I have checked it with GPS.
So far I am well pleased with the conversion, only time will tell to see how it lasts, but after doing the job once and getting over the learning curve it will be a breeze to do it again.

lets see some pics ! 25/55 has that much more tourqe uh?
Looking good 96.
That's a neat combined sprocket securing nut/locking plate you have fitted.
I have a few miles on mine now with no issues so far, can't say I have noticed any extra vibes at all, mine has a Predator motor mount fitted which does transmit a few more than the original mount anyway.
Gave it a good thrash yesterday for 40 miles holding 80-105 mph chasing a Honda Blackbird and really liked how the lower gearing has made 6th a more usable gear.
Time will tell how it holds up but so far so good.
Unless you have an aftermarket speedo that can be recalibrated, I believe you'll just have to do the math in your head. I know my 99 speedo is non-adjustable. Not sure about newer models. GPS in a smart phone is handy to determine error. Otherwise, there are various calculators online.
