Default Ceramic Brake Pads?

Anyone running ceramic brake pads?
Thinking about a set of these http://www.sixity.com/2008-2010-harl...ront-rear.html

I've had stock, changed those out for Carbon fiber / Kevlar still have the same annoying low speed grab / release. Both previous types of pads had plenty of stopping power, didn't fade with heat, none of that. Just low speed braking using the front brake seems to grab and release, grab and release. I took the pads out and hit them with some sand paper, great for a few hundred miles, then bam, grab release all over again. Tried this several times with exact same results.

I checked the run out on the disks, had less than half of the allowed variation, both sides were good, (Dual Disks FXDF). I don't have the facility to check the thickness all the way around but only have 30K on them so wouldn't suspect that, but .... never know.

Anyway, thinking maybe ceramic pads will be a little less grabby, more consistent low speed braking. So, before sinking more money into new pads, figured I should ask if anyone here has experience with them.

Recommendations?

Thanks.

I have ceramic pads on my 99 WG. I put them on to try and eliminate the squeaking/chatter during braking. They did that for a while but now it is starting to come back. As far as surging they have never done that always a smooth stop. So far they have been on for a little of 10K. Hope that helps.

Allowable run out I'd assume is a rule of thumb to replace. You'll be able to feel a tiny bit of run out in the feedback of the lever or that "grab and release" sensation you're feeling. Doesn't take much at all to give you a pulse when you're rolling real slow. Personally I think what you're looking for is new rotors.

SM says 0.008in (0.2mm), I had something like 0.002in. I have a digital gauge but had to frigg a stand to hold it, can't be 100% confident that every spin was completely accurate.

The thing is, a little sandpaper seems to make it go away for a few hundred miles and I'm not feeling any feedback in the handle when it does start.

Anyway, I've taken the advice given earlier and ordered Lyndall Z+ pads all around, will see how that goes. If it comes back, will look at new disks then.

Thanks all for the input.
