Most SE mufflers have a 1 inch diamter hole cut out of the center with a little piece left to hold it in....it is then bent a little to let the sound out.....i'd say stick a rod in there and bend it up more, let more sound out.....

S&S mufflers are the best mufflers you can get! Only step up from them is a full set of pipes!

I have never had V&H's but I can say that the Rush pipes sound really good! I had a set on my Sportie with 2.25" baffles. I have the same on order for my 07 Low Rider. It's been 2 1/2 weeks and counting and still waiting... I hate waiting! I think the only option I have is the Harley download. California has really cracked down with EPA crap. The Harley dealer doesn't even use their dyno booth anymore. It's now a $60,000 storage closet. I am going to call all the Harley dealers within 50 miles of my house tomorrow to see if anyone has the Rush slash down pipes in stock. If I can find them I will cancel my order with the local stealer.

I removed the insulation from my baffles at the suggestion of one of the Harley mechanics. He said they do it all the time and the computer doesn't need remapped. He said it takes it about 500 miles to adjust and then you're golden. I think I've put onabout at 500 miles since we did thatand the only bad thing I noticed was that itdied at a stop sign once the same day we removed the insulation. The bike still runs great and sounds a lot better.
