V&H Quiet Baffles - WTF?
Much deeper , richer sound , the motor runs and sounds better.
I installed mine without removing the pipes , i just took of the heat shields and installed the baffles , it takes a bit of patience but isnt difficult.

Yeah did mine this morning and i,m very happy with the results.

Hey Nightrider2 - Did you use more tape, or what?

Any trouble getting the old ones out? Other than the wrap, is there any physical difference between the two? Did you have any trouble with snagging, as mentioned by Nightrider2? What part of it will require 'patience' (I'm low on that)...

Do as someonne above suggested and safetywire the packing as they are a real bitch to get out.
Be sure to use blue locktite, particularly on the end caps.
First off remove the heat shields from the pipes , i have Vance and Hines Slash cut Short shots.
Unscrew the jubilee clips all the way so that you can bend the clip straight and the heatshields slip straight off.
At the rear of the pipe there are two hex screws that hold the old baffles in place.
I removed the top baffle first , simply slide the the old baffle out and align the new screw hole and baffle and slide in , the end of the baffle should lie flush with the end of the pipe.
The 2nd pipe or lower pipe is a little trickier as the hex screw is right below the exhaust mount that connects to the motor , fiddly but it can beremoved using a small alan key.
Once again align the baffle up and slide in until the two holes match up.
The hardest part i found was re attatching the heat shields as you have to manipulate the brackets back to their original shape in order for them to be tightened back up.
Once again , take your time , grab a beer and a smoke and they will all go back on.
Note : the heat shield brackets have two sizes , one is slighly bigger than the rest , the bigger ones are for the fatter ends of both pipes.
Hope this helps bud.......

, had to take out the old stock baffels, they are A LOT different than the quiet ones, i sprayed some Kroil inside and let it set for a while, then, the orig baffels came out pretty easy, if that does not work, make a little slide hammer set up, one with a hook on one end and hook it inside the baffel and tap outward on the other end of the hook, make it look like a double J, you'll get them out pretty easy that way.
Its a beautiful day here, perfect riding weather, but I opted to stay inside, close the blinds, watch DVDs and worry about what to do with these goddam baffles in between flicks...
sorry - didn't mean to mess up your job by mentioning the safety wire.
I've seen these baffles and the packing is very loose.
just figured that if you want to get them out later, the loose packing will bind up pretty good.
wire may or may not help - I plan on using it but who knows if it's the right way to go.
