bike won't start after warming up
Replaced the coil in my 99 but still having the problem. I just ran it for close to 300 miles to a run in b.c.. no speeding (well,,, sort of not), anyways got here and went to grab some suds and it just turned over but didn't catch. I had to engage the choke just to keep it running. Think that's the filter or something else. Appreciate any and all suggestions.

swofford has FI, but it sounds like you have a carb. I assume you always pull the choke for a cold start? I would suspect either an intake air leak or clogged/mistuned idle circuit in the carb.

l got a s&s super E (of course) and maybe something got f@#$ up on my 23 mile detour down a gravel road . That being said what should be tweaked for the 478 mile trek back to the grind

start as another suggested, check for spark first when it will not start, another trick is to remove spark plugs, pour about a 1/4 teaspoon fresh gasoline direct in to each cylinder, replace the plugs and crank, if it pops a couple times, you will know it is fuel problem, as sometimes a plug will fire in open air, but not under compression. this will rule that out.
