1000 Mile service done!
Just got back from my having my 1000 mile service done. It cost $112.00 and I'm glad I got it in when I did, they found the rear brake caliper leaking and had to do a total rebuild of it. I went with synthetic all around and the 30 mile ride home didn't bring out any differences from standard oil. I heard a Street Bob with Rush slipons with a steop up from the quiet ones and they sounded really good I think they will be my choice when I can get the bucks up for it.

My stealer quoted me $325 plus $200 for the dyno. Gonna do the 1000 mi. myself. Probably wont take it back to them (very large dealer, Thunder Mountain in Loveland CO.) Should of went with a smaller dealer but my experience with any of them isnt that good.

That's the spirit, Dan. These service intervals can easily be done with simple tools and it's a great way to get to know your bike. Saves you money for other stuff, too. Git 'er done!

Got my 1000 mile service last weekend. Brought mobil 1 for the engine and trany with me and the bill was $178. I will be doing the next service my self but wanted them to check out the bike on this one. Do like the synthetic as the bike does run cooler. Can not tell much difference in the shifting. Got my rush with 1.75" baff on 2 days ago. When I fire up now it does turn heads. Fairly loud.
