Default heat damage ?

I over heated my engine really bad (I am pretty sure.) I changed all the fluids and everything is working fine but I am getting 9 mpg less than before. I have no codes. So I was wondering if there could be sensor damage from the heat that did not ruin the sensor but caused it to miss read something.

I am the cause of this but without getting a code I do not really know how to start. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

At this point all I have are questions. What makes you think it overheated? Did it seize up? Is it making any noises that weren't there before and if so, where are they coming from? Are you basing your fuel mileage on a digital function or did you check it using a tripmeter?
Info on the bike would be good. Year, model, mileage, mods, etc.

Thanks for the reply. Glowing red pipes were the initial indicator. I had the tank full and parked it in the garage. When I came back after breakfast I could see that gas had come out of the tank and the throttle and clutch cables were gritty feeling. It did not seize up. No new noises and the mileage is based on the tripmeter.
It is an '06 Street Bob, 88 CI, 9200 miles told it has the stage one, PC3 and the Two Brothers Racing 2-1 exhaust but I had the same issue with the screaming eagle II slip ons.

Wait, did you leave it idleing in the garage for an extended period of time? What do you mean the gas had come out of the tank?

Yes I was trying to cure some ceramic paint on the exhaust. 10 minutes on 30 off and 15 on. that last cycle got me in trouble. I had a fan on and left the fan on and engine off when I went to eat. When I came back there was dried moisture marks coming from the gas cap.
I know it is all my fault. This is my first air cooled bike and I should have known better. Unfortunately for me, I learn my lessons the hard way. I just thank God nothing worse happened like the house burning down.
Like I said before no codes, no new noises, just the drop in fuel mileage after the incident. I will do what is needed to correct my mistake and I am looking for a place to start.

Red Glowing pipes is a sign of lean. 15 min idle shouldn't cause that excessive of temp. It will take at least 5-10 to get to operating temp. Sounds like your power commander may have taken a dookie on you.

When a PowerCommander fails for any reason, the bike will not run whatsoever. If it runs, the PC is good.

I would check the connections on the PC and reinstall the map. It may have gotten corrupted somehow.

I will check the connections first and should I use some dielectric grease or keep it clean and dry?
