Default Mustang tripper wide or not?

As it says I'm looking at these 2 solo seats for my FB and not sure if I need the wide tripper or not? I'm 5'10" 165lbs and don't need a touring seat but something a little better than stock. Anyone has one of these seats or try one?

2 buddies have the wide (wide glide & fat bob) and I used to own the narrow version......get the wide cause it's way more comfortable plus I think it looks better too.

I bought the Mustang vintage wide solo with drivers back rest. I needed something for an 8 day bike trip that I have coming up. I also added the wide passenger pillion so my luggage would have a comfortable trip.

Here's a pic without the passenger seat.

Default Mustang tripper wide or not?

I got the solo tripper with detachable passenger pad for when my gf wants to ride. I absolutely love how it looks and it feels more comfortable than my stock seat.

Nothing against the wide option, I just liked the looks of the regular tripper better.

Thanks guys. Anyone have a picture of the wide tripped on their bike? I like the smaller look myself but also want more comfort than stock. I have a boney *** and the stock one hurts me after a hour or so.

I have the solo wide. I'm waiting for a leather fender strip to cover the saddlebag straps. Very comfy. Looked big to me at first but comfortable as all git up.

I have purchased 5 mustang wide vintage solo seats over many years, made the mistake of buying a tripper for my last sportster, it was called a wide, about 12.5", it was horrible, shocked and disappointed.

Those pictures that are posted now are for wide vintage models. The OP is referring to the Tripper solo model that come either wide (I believe 12") or standard (narrow 9"?).

Found pic of when I had the narrow:

The wide is just like that, but much more comfortable, covers a bit of the shock mounts, and sits a bit over the batter and fuse box.....Looks and feels better in general.

Thanks HD! I'm goin to order the tripper wide solo. I'll post up my results when it comes in. Stock seat was 13" so 12" would be good. 9" is to narrow for me.
