Yes.............. they are if you have a creative mind for it. First get all the necessary hardware. The tach kit from hd for the 2005, the spacers they say you will need, the bolts, and the handlebar riser clamp. As seen in the pic i went with the skull one and had it powder coated (wrinkle black) to match the setup. What you need to do is before you get it powdercoated is have it cut out on the top to accept the light guage and then get it powder coated. see pic. then the wiring in the box it is crap not even the right length, my dealer just cut and sodered the tach attachment off of the new one and installed it on my factory wiring....... presto you are done.
Right after I got my Super Glide Custom one of the first things I did was have a tach put on it. It ain't cheap, but it ain't $600 or $700 either. I wanted to keep the original speedo, so I bought the conversion kit that is in the catalog andit came with a tach to match the original speedo and had the dealer hook it all up. No problemo.
Look at the big 2007 HD Catalog. On page 711 in the Multi-Fit section. Item G & H is what I got last year. But, it was available for '06 Glides. I know it worked then. It's on my bike. It must be a typo in this years catalog. I bet the thing would work. A guy with a screen name that is something like DGlide has a bike with the same set on it.
