High idle
My 06 street Bob has been in storage since the winter. Looking to sell it so I started it up and ran it. My problem is that the bike stays idling high . Going down the road WO it spits and sputters. Usually the bike will idle high for a minute and then you twist throttle and it comes right down but the bike is not doing that now.
Where do I start ?

Your IAC is possibly gummed up, stuck kind of open. High idle and too lean at WOT. Easy to clean. Free or cost of a can of TB or Map Sensor cleaner.
If fresh gas and or Seafoam does not fix it, look there next.

HD's are know for a high idle at times. If you turn it off before it goes to normal idle the computer thinks, when you crank it again, it is the normal idle. so it will have a high idle until it settles in.
Even with seafoam in winter months the fuel could still be bad from sitting. Depending on how long it sat. I use oil in the fuel for the winter. I was a die hard seafoam user for many years then I discovered it is not so good for carb engines. Doesn't seem to effect FI. A carb engine has parts that will rust where as FI it doesn't or they are better protected.
