Default Forward controls installation question

Greetings,
I am a new motorcycle owner and rider, and am attempting to install forward controls on my 2008 Dyna Street Bob.
When attempting to remove the break pedal and R side footpeg,
I am unable to remove the pin that couples the footpeg with the break pedal. I assume this pin is meant to simply pull out as it has the small wire loop extending from the inner end. As I examine the pin, it appears to be corroded in place...no rust, but it almost looks like sea salt or something. Anyways, the pin will not rotate freely in its housing, and I have tried to tap it out---though access is really difficult.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to remove this pin or how to free it?
Would a torch help?
Any thoughts or recommendations would be most helpful.
Also, is there a way to remove the brake rod without first removing this pin and detaching the break pedal? (I am just thinking that it would be a lot simpler to free the pin if I could free the entire assembly from the bike.)
Thanks in advance

I went from fwds to mids so had to deal with that part. The pin should come out but you may have to take the 2 fasteners out to the foot peg mount first and rotate the mount a bit so that the pin can be pushed outboard to come out. I also have a safety retaining ring on my pin that needs to come off first. Maybe this pic will help a bit, you can see the parts pretty well:

Looking at pic above...follow the brake linkage down and see that nut on the threads...that is a jam nut for the pedal adjustment. Remember this for when you need to adjust your brake after installing forward controls. It will be butted up next to another nut when on bike. Two different size wrenches. 7/16 for adjuster and 1/2 for jam nut. If not, next size down (spacing it right meow). Break those free of each other and loosen adjuster nut all the way out until threads are free of nut. The pin should free up tho. Spray some pb blaster in there and giver her a whack. If the lip/flange of the of the pin is showing a lil bit on the opposite side from where the ring goes, I like to use a pair of dykes to get it out. Clamp under the flange and wiggle back and forth using the brake linkage as leverage. You could also get small flathead and try and hammer it in under the lip/flange to loosen it and pop it out.

I just fought this battle on my 08'. The absolute only way I could get the pin out was with a c-clamp and a socket (I found the information on this site)

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...n-removal.html

scroll down and you will see the illustration. I fought for over 2 hours with pb blaster, vice grips, hammer and lots of cussing. Took about 20 seconds with the c clamp/socket.

Hope this helps.

Good one. I'll keep that in the back pocket for when the time comes!
