Anyone with mids install just pegs in the forward control mounting location? I'm thinking about doing this and ditching my DK customs highway peg mounts. I'm just wondering if I'll still need to install the pivot shaft on the brake side to make everything work even though I wouldn't be putting on a brake lever.
To use just as highway pegs? Tons of people do it, and infact there are a few companies that make the plates and peg studs, just add pegs. That's what I did, found the plates and bolts on eBay and found some $8 OEM foot pegs on eBay too.
Hell somebody (speed merchant?) makes a crash bar that mounts in the forward mounts and also serves as a highway peg.
Here is my setup

Sure. Previous owner put forward controls on my '97 Dyna. I went back to mid mount controls and reinstalled the original forward foot peg only mounts. Great for the highway and to stretch out on the road.
Thanks for all the replies. I guess I should have been a little more clear. Here is s picture of my current set up using the DK customs mount. I basically just want the pegs from the forward controls, no brake or shifter pedals. If that makes sense.

I dont get it... you dont have any brake or shift pedals on your forwards now(?)
Haha, I know. I just don't like the look of the DK customs highway peg mount. Not their mount specifically. I just don't like how far out they stick and the right side is hard to get comfortable with my air cleaner cover in the way. I'm thinking just using peg mounts, like off a fat bob would be better. A more clean and low profile look.

I just put bolts and acorn nuts where the pivot shafts went on my old forwards.
Well, I got it done. I've only done about 55 miles with them on but am very happy with them so far. I feel like its a very natural postion. My legs can actually relax with my feet on these pegs. On the left side peg I had to add a 1/4 inch spacer to fill the gap where the shifter lever should be. The right peg hits the header on my pro pipe when folded all the way up. Only downside, just have to be careful.
