Thoughts On My Parts List

hey guys
lately I've been getting that mod itch and started doing some research. my 15 FXDF recently got its 1000mi service and I was looking at some parts. I'd like to know your thoughts or experiences with them!

First up is the Vance & Hines Big Radius 2:1 Black, I mainly like the look of it but I've also seen on the forums that 2:1 is a better flowing exhaust. (http://products.vanceandhines.com/store/2012/48021/)

Next is a Screamin Eagle Extreme Billet Ventilator, I know this flows the same as a regular ventilator but I like the look, I'll just look the other way when they swipe my debit card haha (http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...18-29400224--1)

for a tune the dealer highly suggested they're Screamin Eagle Pro Tuner, since I want it dyno tuned for best results. (http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...ance-tuner-kit)

Now the catch with some of those parts are that I'm on warranty and have an extended service plan for 6 years, with those parts the dealer will work with me and still honor all the warranties.

PS I'm having troubles attaching links to the parts

Congrats one you new scoot, anything the dealer installs, should not void the warranty. I have the V&H Big Shots 2>2 with a crossover, which gives you close to 2>1 performance. I'm not a fan of the 2>1 look, and I'm satisfied with it. Have fun making it your own.

That's what they were saying, sounds like my only tuning option is the SE Street or Pro Tuner.
have you heard a 2:1? I've listened to the videos on the website but that's never the same

Look at the D&D exhausts if you've never heard of them.

The SE tuner is a waste. Get the Vance and Hines tuner. It's much cheaper and you can do the tuning your self. I got talked into the SE tuner when I bought my bike, now it's a $450 orange plastic paper weight in my tool box. I opted for the V&H and ditched the SE. With the SE, any time you make a change you will have to pay the dealer to do the tune.

You do know that you are able to run Auto-tuning using the SEProST. It's one of the best tuners on the market if you're smart enough to know how to use it properly. No Dealer involvement unless you decide to.

Any body that pays $450 for an air cleaner should have their head examined, twice.
I totally agree with the D&D exhaust. Much better than the run of the mill everybody has one V&H stuff.

umm... i pretty sure that im a lot smarter than a lot of the techs that would be working on my bike. i just dont have a laptop and dont have the cable for my tuner, so its a waste for me. mine is the SE super tuner, the tuner that is $459.99. it was purchased during the sale of my bike and the parts guy told me that since i was getting pipes and AC that i had to have this tuner. they also tacked on a dyno that they owe me at 1k miles. so i kinda got screwed vs the $284 for my FP3 that i can use with my phone...

First off, you should be purchasing your upgrades and additions through an online Dealer such as Surdyke or Boardtracker HD.
Secondly , you can buy a laptop from a pawnshop for $100 that will suffice for a shop tool and the cable is only $38.
Thirdly, You don't need to wait until you have 1000 miles on the bike to get it Dyno'd. It's always a good idea to get on this forum and ask around or research about what you may want to do before acting upon it.
