Ok so when I go to start my bike like most people i wait to start it until the red light and the yellow light on my speedo goes off. well Lately when im running hard on the interstate with a group the red light just next to the speedo needle will light up for a couple minutes and then go off, then come back on again a few minutes later. iv searched around and cant find anything explaining what the light means. Does this happen to anyone else or does anyone know what it means? Any input is appreciated. BTW bike is a 2013 Streetbob.
thats the "electrical systems lamp" according to the manual. signals a problem with something electrical... with what you are having a problem I cant say.
Head light? turn signals? speedo? all working correctly? charging system not charging? bum battery?
I had exactly the same thing happen. It turned out it was a fault with the front brake master cylinder.
When I was running fast, the air pressure on the front brake lever would activate the switch to illuminate the brake lights and the fault in the master cylinder ( I think it's a spring that should return the lever to normal position) meant that the bike thought it was constantly running fast with the brakes on - which caused the red light to go on.
When I slowed down, the air pressure on the lever would be relieved and the light would go out.
According to my dealer, this is a well known fault and the master cylinder was replaced under warranty.

Exactly the same thing is happening with my Dyna street Bob 2017. Infact I did notice that the rear lights remain on untill I intentionally push the front brake lever away ,, there seems to be hardly any freeplay.
I think it should be adjustable with the brake freeplay.

Same here... Push it out and the light goes off...

Is it always like that? If not, check your brake fluid with bike upright level. If there is too much fluid in there, if you are an aggressive braking, it will heat and expand fluid.
Be sure the lever itself is loose on the shaft. Should easily fall back. You have a serious problem that could boil the brake fluid and loose your rear breaks.
