Default Wide Glide +3 degree trees handling?

I'm thinking of adding some raked trees to my DWG. How is the handling with +3 or +5 degree trees? I do a lot of 70 mph riding on the interstate with plenty of buffeting from big trucks and cross winds so I want to be stable at speed. Not many twistys in my region, so that's less of a concern.

Thanks for any input!

Don't Wide Glides have raked trees from the factory?

Raked trees will increase straight line stability but you will suffer in the turns and low speed maneuvers. Based on your statement of roads in your area, it sounds like you will not have a problem.

PS I do not think a 1999 WG has raked trees, the frame on the Lowrider and WG had more rake then the Superglides.

Isn't that just the opposite..rakes trees will lower your trail and make it more agile?

That's how I understood it, but didn't want to argue it. Mostly interested in user experiences. Especially curious how much tree rake can be added to the DWG before it starts to become unstable at interstate speeds.

Maybe I'm wrong, but the farther you stick that front wheel out (degree wise) the better it will do going straight, at speed, and the harder it is to go slow. My 02 wg is great at highway speeds but doesn't slow race so good. My egc Is Much easier to handle at very low speeds because it has less rake. More castor makes the steering more stable at the higher speeds, but less manageable at low speeds

When the neck angle and tree angle are the same, yes. That would increase trail. Since I'm only changing the trees, the rules change.
