Any option for going gear driven when you swap the cams? Never have to worry about tensioner wear again...
I am running Andrews 59G gear driven cams in my bike and I am happy with them.
Going gear drive has more benefits than just eliminating tensioners. They also allow more accurate timing and less resistance, since chain and tensioners are gone, which ultimately frees up more ponies.
.....saying that it ain't so easy to install them on the new twin cams because your bike already had the good Timkin bottom end, where as these new bikes got rid of that and have bunch of slop that the cam tensioner compensates for.
Crank run out has to be careful measured before knowing if your bike is ready for gear drive cams.

Yeah when I ordered the cams it was advertised that the gear drive would bump output by about 4 HP. I never knew the lack of a Timkin bearing in the newer bikes had an impact on the overall tolerances in the motor. I always figured the Timkin would simply hold up under the strain of a seriously built motor better than the newer bikes.
You can get away with only removing the exhaust pipe for the front cylinder (bottom pipe). I was able to install my cams this way with Short Shots. Looks like your pipes take same path.
