looks like a tank bra to me, they're wonderful at scratching up your paint and thats about it.
Im gonna say no, that's not true. What you did with yours is your own business, the hd ones have lining where the leather meets the paint to PREVENT paint scratching. Have had one on my sportster for years. NO SCRATCHES. Kept my jeans from nashing the tank.
There's always "that guy". Why be that "that guy"?
Just a tip, when you finish your auto tune run don't use the ignition switch but rather shut down the bike with the kill switch and leave the ignition on while you save the auto tune run, then apply the new map before you turn off the ignition. Your auto tune run will be more accurate that way due to how the data is saved in the PV...
After you apply the first run go in to Quick Tune, set your decel to 10% and V/E to 12%, save changes then take her for a ride and get a feel for the changes. A few auto tune runs and you're going to be amazed at the improvements, it takes several runs since you can't do wholesale changes all at once with the pre-loaded DynoJet maps.
When you've got her dialed in a bit closer we'll talk about pulling your exhaust baffles and putting in TTI's to prevent reversion in the exhaust
What ve's are you raising by twelve percent? Your idle or decal area?

I dont like to be "that guy" but I think they truly do scratch. While yes it wont be serious scratching there will be some swirl marks and possible rub marks that when the bras are removed will need to be polished out if you want perfect paint. I'm pretty nit picky about paint and stuff being on my paint as an amateur auto detailer. I see a tank bra and other fender bras, etc and I know they have a fleece backing to prevent scratching but that doesn't matter when you ride and dust and road grime gets trapped between the bra and paint... any little movement will make swirl parts, because you're basically dragging micro sized rocks across your clear coat. Which you may not care about swirl marks and be perfectly happy with how your paint looks with and after having a bra on it, but I wouldn't be happy and I'd get to work with a polisher. From what I see with the pics of your bikes, they have a small extent of swirls over the tanks anyways so a bra may not make it any worse, and by all means if you're happy with them now go for it. But I can tell you any detailer or somebody who really cares about their paint wouldn't be happy with swirl marked paint. Just look next time you're around some cars at a stop light and most of them will have some extent of swirl marks, which people are OK with having. I was just giving the guys a heads up that they will scratch.

Just stop. while both are dirty, there are no scratches on either bike other than around the gas cap on the sporty from me repeatedly wiping off the gas spray/spills. what you are doing is talking out of school.
respectfully give it a rest and stop being 'that guy' and ruining a productive thread with your ocd opinion

Decel, you can make changes to the V/E decel percentages via Quick Tune, it's located under the V/E tab; decel fuel percentage changes are found under the Fuel tab in Quick Tune...
In re-reading these posts I just realized I wasn't very clear about how I worded earlier posts and someone who's never done it or used a Power Vision wouldn't have any idea what I was talking about: You want to increase percentages in fuel decel and V/E decel which is found under the 'Fuel' and 'V/E' tabs in Quick Tune when trying to remove decel popping and burbling under off throttle conditions, Quick Tune is the fastest way to make percentage changes and test how effective they were...
Edit: For anyone who's never played with Quick Tune or is curious about the PV here's a video from DynoJet on Quick Tune:

i assumed you meant v/e global and decel. worked like a charm. no more jiffy pop
