Here is a couple pictures of my 20" recurve for the sport brackets that I referred to in my previous post. I had to cut a little over an inch off of the bottom to fit on the Memphis lowers.

How is the recurve version compared to the stock one?
I have cut mine out around the headlight to drop it down and then also took some off the top.
I get a little bit of buffeting but not much at all...but I also wear a skull cap so there is not much for the wind to grab.
It was like night and day to the stock one once I added the lowers. Just on it's own it was an improvement but with the lowers it was incredible. I have zero buffeting up to 100 mph now. With the stock screen and lowers it would buffet after I went over 60 mph.
I have yet to ride with it, and naturally it's going to rain the next couple of days, but it looks like it'll be 50 this weekend so I'll be on it then. I'll report back afterwards.
Have you had the chance to test yours yet or are you dealing with the paint issue first?

Can the lowers be attached with the QD clamps? I only use the shield for longer highway rides/riding in the cold, so I want to be able to remove everything quickly.

Hi. No the paint issue I think is ok - it was just bubbling around the fill neck cause the painter didn't mask it before the sealing surface of the cap. I sanded it down and am going to use some POR-15 gas tank sealer to seal the edges of the paint in that groove. So that's not whats holding me back - its the damn rain! Though it looks like tomorrow will be sunny and a high about 48 - so I'll ride to work (when its about 38deg at 7am!) and test it out then. I"ll let you know how it goes asap.

I am not sure if the HD ones would work or not. I could check it out. They only take a minute to remove anyway as it is only one hex screw that holds each side on. You can either remove the screw in the red circle that removes the clamp or the screw in the blue circle which will remove only the bracket and deflector, but leave the clamp in place on the fork tube. That way you don't need to adjust them each time.
Edit: I attached a picture to show how the clamps for the lowers look after removing them. It literally only takes a few seconds to remove or install them the way they are. If you don't like the look of the clamps left on the forks then remove the screw that releases the clamp instead. It takes longer that way as you will have to line them back up when re-installing.
