Wow. That's it. Just wow.

Ok, some more detail. Absolutely 1000% improvement over the Memphis replacement shield I had in my HD QD brackets. I can feel the jetstream about 6" over the top of my head, which is perfect for when I use a FF vs. my half helm. When I lower the shield to reduce the gap above the headlight, it will still pass overhead. I felt around and had a small jet of air coming in that gap, over the tank, hitting my gut and rolling up my chest and into my face. Not bad, but there. Still much better overall then any shield I've had, and once I cut it to be able to lower it a bit (prob only an inch and a half due to the brackets), I think that will improve a lot. Still so good I didn't even pull the tube over my face, which I usually would when riding in 42 deg cold. Not bad!

The ride was a short one, only about 10 min and not more then about 55 (45mph back roads) so I need to get up to some speed, but I know it'll be great. Another benefit is the shield is wider, and I felt less wind on my hands - which is huge when i gets cold.

Here is the gap I mentioned. Once I cut out two notches for the sigs, I will be able to close it up a bit.

Good to hear you got the same kind of results as I did with mine even though it is a different style. I just love how effective mine is.

Have you considered replacing your headlight mounting block to one that will raise your headlight an an inch or two rather than trimming the shield? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Harley-headl...xWXOCu&vxp=mtr

You can either remove the screw in the red circle that removes the clamp or the screw in the blue circle which will remove only the bracket and deflector, but leave the clamp in place on the fork tube. That way you don't need to adjust them each time.

Edit: I attached a picture to show how the clamps for the lowers look after removing them. It literally only takes a few seconds to remove or install them the way they are. If you don't like the look of the clamps left on the forks then remove the screw that releases the clamp instead. It takes longer that way as you will have to line them back up when re-installing.

Thanks for the great info! 1 more question; How tall are you and can you see over the 20" version? I am 5'11" and I want to see over the shield, so i'm not sure if I should go with the 20" or the 18.5".

I am 6'3" and I got the 23" version actually - I don't think it's on their site - but when I spoke to the guy there he suggested that height for me.

Right now, I can see over the top - Just. The road surface I can see without looking through the shield is about 30' in front of the front wheel.

I actually have a taller block, but I like the "low" bucket look, and I only use the screen in the fall/winter so I'd rather mod it and leave the headlight where it is. Good thought though. Thanks.

I just didn't have the ***** to make the cuts myself, so I stopped by a glass and mirror shop (coincidentally right next door to the body shop who did my tank) and asked them to make the cuts for me. $50 later I had exactly what I wanted. Now the shield is about an inch and a half lower and exactly where I wanted it. Here are the cuts.

Hey Mchad what size and model is the shield you bought. I have the HD QD shield on mine and it way to low and could be wider
