I'm glad my impact was up to the task. .I haven't gotten to try it on that nut yet but I figured it'd work out okay. Also glad you went Tim Allen here. Ugh ugh ugh.
I was able to torque that nut without an impact but it wasn't pretty. I think I had a giant pipe wrench and breaker bar to do it.
I had planned on just using a breaker bar on it but I have the bike up on the stand and I think the torque would have flipped it off the stand so had to use the wrench.
Had the bike been on the ground in the wheel chock I would have used the bar on it.
That impact though is a good tool to have for sure
Looking good suede! I zipped my pulley nut on with my impact too. I was trying to torque mine down with a breaker bar and cheater when the motor was out and thought I was going to rip the trans out of the frame. That electric impact is bad ***, I got dibs if you want to get rid of it!
monster the trick to getting that impact on a deal is Home Depot does a sale every Christmas season. .last two years anyway. You buy the 2763-20 bare impact and one of their 'kits' (Usually priced around $350) and they apply $150 discount across the two items. So you might get like $50 off the impact and $100 off the kit. Then just return the kit and keep the discount on the impact.
Mine was already on sale when I did this so I snagged it for $125 or so.
Other option is zoro.com. They usually do a 30% off sale during big holidays like 4th of July.
Kind of a funny thing in the 2014 Dyna SM, Page 3-31, Image 3-18; drain plug makes a funny cameo appearance where it doesn't belong. I wonder if someone did it as a joke or accident. I don't know if it would violate copyright law so I didn't post a pic of that image.
Anyway, figured, when in doubt, post a pic of something.
