I've got a 2010 wide glide with the 5 3/4" headlight and thought about spending some tax return money on an upgraded light. I probably do about 70% day riding and most night rides are cruising in town. I like the look of the daymaker but I don't want the HD price tag. I'm ok with spending in the $200-300 range, closer to $200 would be better. The Jw speaker seems to be a very good quality light and a cheaper rate. I do like the idea of the halo lights for more visibility. I've seen several of the ebay, amazon (Eagle Lights, Octane, Genssi, Lite-Way and several more brand) lights but there doesn't seem to be much for info on these. I also ran across Moto Illumination lights, that seems to have decent reviews from many and it's under $200. The only place it's available is through the guy's Facebook page. Does anyone have any experience with any of these. The stock light isn't real great so I'm sure any light would be an improvement but I'd rather spend more money to get higher quality if the $150ish lights are a total piece of crap. Thanks in advance
I made it simple on my 09 FXD,
I dumped the factory 5 3/4 and put a 7" bucket off a Fatboy on it (easy drop in) then just got a Diamond Adjure glass and lamp.
I've less then $120 invested and the difference is HUGE, I'm happy. https://www.google.com/search?q=diam...djure+headlamp
try thread search but I'd buy something that is sold on a reputable website like jp cycles, even if you get it off ebay instead, JP wouldn't carry it if it were a junk product.. but that's just me,. unless you really research it.
I also have an Adjure with a PIAA bulb, but kept the stock 5-3/4 housing, (total investment $50) the combo is not bad, but not nearly as good as LED, I just didn;t care to spend upwards of $300 on a housing/ led combo, since I very rarely ride at night anyways. The PIAA bulb has a great white color, looks almost LED like during the day, 5,000 miles on the bulb & it's still good.
Interested in seeing how a 7" light looks on a dyna, I'd be afraid it look goofy.

I've also been looking at changing out my headlight so I have spent some time looking at options. Really its up to you and how much you want to spend because there are ALOT of choices out there. You could simply change the bezel or do a bezel and bulb, or change the entire bucket or.. well you get the picture.
You are already on the right track because you know what lighting requirements you need (mostly daytime riding) and you know your budget. Now think about the overall look you are going for on your bike. Are you going to chrome out the whole bike or is the blackout look more what you want. Do you like the billet machined look or smooth old school look.
The 7" looks a bit big for my taste but its YOUR bike so you make it how you want it! Looking at all the options is a big part of the fun in customizing your ride!
Yeah the 7" is big, sorry don't have a current pic and it's stored in the garage.
But I don't give a crap what it looks like to those that are forced to look at it.
I like the light it tosses, I like what I see.
I didn't list the Trucklite as an option since that's an 7" option only at this point. I've decided at
this point to stick with the 5 3/4". I do appreciate all of your input though.
