I like those screaming eagle spark plug wires, they look awesome. Are these the 10mm ones? Did you notice any difference after installing these wires?

What do you guys think is the best looking derby cover for the LRS?

The kit comes with an oil sandwich adapter. Since I have a fan, I also have a thermal switch and a T-fitting. The install is straight forward. Remove oil filter, screw in the adapter fitting, screw in the t-fittings and hose barbs, and then screw in the plate onto the adapter fitting. I then mounted the radiator, measured the hoses, cut and clamped. I always give the rubber lines a little twist counter to the bend to get them to firm up and hold shape together. The wiring was a bit of a pain in the ***. They want you to use the brake switch hot side, but it was causing issues with the brake light. So I routed the hot wire to a turn indicator wire (daytime running wire continuous ignition switched power). Plug the hot wire and the fan wire to the thermal switch and then used a motor mount bolt for ground. Cleaned it up with a couple of zip ties. Took about one hour. The hoses are kind of soft and if you follow their instructions, you will not apply enough pressure to the hoses to prevent oil from weeping. I tightened them down enough so that the line would not move with a hard pull. Once I feel like dealing with it, I have some fuel injection clamps that I will use instead. I highly suggest just buying them outright and saving the hassle later.

hey guys. . New to the forum and Also new to the FXDLS as i just picked mine up last week! ive owned a good bit of different bikes spanning from a custom chopper to the stretched street/strip zx14 i traded in for this Low Rider S. let me say, aside from the pipes and wanting my 14" tbars on, im ecstatic on this thing! I'm sure my gripes are typical though.

Anyway, as for the bars. I ordered clutch/brake/turn sig extensions and theyre on backorder for now. I was wondering if anyone has been able to pull the wiring connectors out of the frame yet. I was messing with this the other day and noticed how fuggin tight it felt. Damn near felt like i was going to pull it apart! anyway, if theres any tips id greatly appreciate it.

Either way, im happy to be a new owner of one of these bad boys. I do miss riding to test n tune on the zx14 but really eager to make this bike my own

Yeah, they'll come out. Some are folded pretty far back. Just take your time. A dulled (not sharp pointed) hook pick can help. You can also pull the plastic cover off under and behind the steering head - but that can be a PITA unless the tank is raised.

There's actually a surprising amount of space in there. When I relocated my sigs, I decided not to cut and repin the connectors to shorten the wires, I just stuffed them down the spine. Used a thin wooden dowel with U grinded into the end with a dremel to push (gently).

Speaking of oil coolers, I know the Jagg seems to be the goto one, but I was looking at the Ultracool kit (http://www.ultracoolfl.com). Looks a bit more refined, built in thermostat, fittings on the lines instead of clamps. Any reason why it seems less popular? Looks like its only mounted under the regulator though, but that doesn't bother me...

thanks for the headsup! well.. in the last 30 minutes of creeping on this forum, i decided i may delay the 14" tbar install for now. i was quoted about 300 for extended clutch/brake/turn sig's and i may just hold off and wait. especially after i saw your post way back on page 63 using the 3" riser extensions. I checked them out on dk's site and hell, for 30 bucks and a baby due next month, that may be a good comprimise. those Tsport bags look great on your bike btw!

i was also going to ask about relocating the turn signals to the forks. they have a kit (i forget where) with fork clamps.

thanks for the quick response btw!

I went with Jagg based on recommendation with very little research. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose this one for the stainless steel fittings. I have always used AN fittings on my track car oil coolers. Using worm clamps for pressurized lines is kind of sketchy to me.

Edited to add: I also like the thermal switch in the adapter plate. Much, much cleaner from an installation perspective.

That is the one I asked about as well. I got the overshelming Jagg reply. I am going to order that Ultracool unit this evening
