Default Big Al's Defender Bags

I was just checking out big al's site and noticed these defender bags for sale there...

http://shop.bigalscycles.com/collections/accessories/products/dyna-police-replica-bags

Does anybody have these on their bike? What's the quality like? Any pictures would definitely be welcome too! Thanks.

Forgive the opinion here... but 700 bucks for some ugly bags?

I've been thinking about better bags on mine, than what I made for it. Sumax makes some nice looking bags for a Dyna...

I made my own bags... been on the bike for several years now.

I definitely prefer the look of the defender bags to the standard leather bags a lot of people are using.

Wow! I have a '04 Defender with the original cop bags, and those look (in the pics anyway) exactly like my originals. And the support rails included would be a hellofa lot easier to mount on something other than a Defender. Defender rails mount to the spring seat support bolt and the rear fender equipped with huge brace - things no other bikes have. This does away with that crap. And I've seen OEM used/skinned Defender bags go for as much as $1000 on fleabay.

Haven't seen these bags in person, but from the looks of the pics, looks like a pretty fair deal - if Defenders are your "bag."

Yeah they look exactly the same as my FXDP bags too. I almost want a set, but I'm going to let the first round of research and development go out. Only two mounting points with those solid rails and full bags worries me and also want to hear how well they hold up (hinges and if they turn purple)

Function > Form

I have leather-type bags, purely for function, don't care for how they look on my bike. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess. I'd take the defender hard bags over anything else - they're utilitarian, serve a purpose, they weren't meant to look pretty, which is exactly why I love how they look...the fact that someone is finally replicating them so I don't have to sell a ******** for an OG pair is awesome, and shows that there is obviously a market for them.
