Welcome to the forum. If I were in your shoes I'd utilize the search function and spend some time reading the forum. You'd find things out such as what motor it has like an 80 inch evo, the tires like a 21 inch front tire, etc. Not sure what specific questions you have, but chances are all the info you're looking for is here on the forum
if it's in good shape I say go for it, motorcycles are expensive to maintain, expect it will need a new drive belt soon, I think they age and that one possibly being 20 years old... plus it might need a full service.
get the seller to demo it for you, or even let you ride it, get it up to temperature so you can see how it runs hot, Harley really don't run good until they are hot anyways. Listen to the motor for loud ticks.
what's the mileage?

Can you ride yet? If not, get that out of the way first. Find a local MSF course and take it.
I agree with the guy above...if you're that new to bikes, probably best to have an experienced harley owner or mechanic check the bike over before you find you're getting a basketcase. They're not hard to work on, but more needy than cars and less room for error in quality of work/wear/adjustment/etc.
