Default Viking Bags - Anyone?

The only thing intriguing me is their videos and their price point. Anyone run a set of these? Looking for a '16 Street Bob. Thoughts?

That's one of many recent threads that have viking pics and reviews.

I looked at them when I bought my first set of HD bags off CL. I wasn't very impressed with some of the sour reviews, not to mention a guy I work with has a set on his Vulcan, hate to give em a bad rap without owning a set but they just didn't look that good, kinda cheap. I'm actually looking at a set of HD's Synthetic bags, and for under $400 from Kutter is a deal

I have a set on my FXDF with the removable mount. I have nothing to complain about, they look good, they are easy to install and they are not real expensive. I also got my brother a set for his motorcycle and he likes them as much as I do. My only complaint is that it took 3 tries to get the correct mounting hardware, they always answered the phone and were quick in the turn around.

Read the posts on the link posted above, I have a set of shock cutout bags, you get what you pay for and the warranty is not that good. Seems that there isn't much consistency in quality.

I just painted & mounted a set of their hard bags on my friend Charley's Fat Bob. IMO, they're pretty decent bags for the money. But there can be Customer Service issues. If I were you, I'd type Viking Bags in the search bar and to determine if dealing the possible hassles is worth it to you. It's all a matter of what price means to you. For a hands-on guy that's on a budget, you'll end up with pretty nice bags at a good price.

I bought a set a few months back with the quick detach. Zero issues! Everthing fit perfect and looks great.

Your friend "Charlie's" bags bear a striking color resemblance to what I imagine his daily uniform must look like!

I have a set that came with the bike, throw over the fender type. Converted to them to a two **** spin off, on an off in seconds.

Recently installed a pair of Viking bags on my bike, and so far so good. I like the look of the bags, they are sturdy and look well made, sure its not a 100% leather but material is decent. The supplied mounting hardware seemed a bit on the marginal side but honestly has not disappointed, it has held up very well and remains solid holding the bags, even with lots of weight.
I do plan to eventually replace the mounts with the quick release they offer.

If I had one thing to complain about it would be the locks, you cannot leave them in the open position and remove the key. So you must use the key every time you go to open a bag. Its a bit of a pain in the *** but otherwise a small thing. Unlike others I have read I have no key issues, they supplied two keys exactly the same, copies that works for both locks.

Sure I could have been a purist and stuck with Harley parts only, but will not justify spending $600-$800 + for bags that have the logo. For less than $160 I got what I was looking for, traveling storage, and for that price I say go for it!
