As far as OEM seats go...the Dynas use the same rear tab regardless of model.

Aftermarket can do anything they want...for instance, saddleman could offer a longer tab to mount a Non-WG seat on a wideglide, but not the other way around...as in putting a longer WG only seat on a Non-WG. Easy to add material...harder to remove.

BTW on OEM seats, it's 2004-05 only not sayin' that someone didn't just stick another year on anyway

This isn't necessarily true, the pic of the factory seat that came on the 04 Super Glide shows the longer tab mounted for the Wide Glide fender, I placed the shorter one on top to show what originally came on the seat.
Now the other pic is the Saddleman Profiler seat for the Wide Glide fender, the original seat tab was placed over the top to show they share the same mounting hole, which is the trouble he's running into.
Im currently running the WG fender but swapping it out soon and I'll have to do a tab comparison with the SG seat.

i will post pictures when i get home but i think that super glide tab might be different than the tab i have. The seat i bought didn't come with a tab, instructions said to use the stock tab but it's still to long i will take seat off when i get home and show you what i mean. Either way i still feel like i lucked out just a little bit of work and will save myself over 200 dollars compared to other seats i was looking at

It is...as far as OEM seat fitment goes.

Do you know how use the online parts breakdown?

Pick 2004 Dynas for example, they all use #51652-97A rear seat tab...WG, super glide...all the same

Look it up

Plus I have all the seats in question

I agree, $100bux for a quality new seat is a great deal, and the one thing about Saddleman is they'll take care of you. Email them or call them and let them know the seat you purchased doesn't have the carpet backing. They may set it up to have the seat shipped back so they can fix it. They did mine.

Dude, Im not getting into a pissing contest with you about who's prettier, I just showed you 2 different Harley Davidson Factory seat tabs on a stock 04 Dyna Super Glide seat. The longer one is fitter for an 04 Wide Glide fender.

HD can say what they want in their books and microfiche films, but there are 2 tabs for those seats. But of course you're right.

That's good to hear. Customer service is sooo important.

My seats are all carpeted back and they still **** up the paint on both tins and frame. No biggie for me, though. 50k miles on the bike...of course it has battle scars. Just throwing it out there as fair warning.
