Default Highway pegs

So when I bought my mids, they generously came with highway pegs, but I cannot grasp how they are supposed to be mounted. The pics are of the brackets and what I have on my bike for mounting.

Ideas or suggestions?

Let me guess, you're a member of the millennial generation? You might need either a drill or a different bracket.

Your photo of the peg brackets provides insufficient information. I see the top hole goes all the way through the bracket but can't tell with the bottom (back) holes?

This is what you have:

Smaller set screws at the bottom. The 2 holes that don't go all the way through at the bottom of the bracket allows for 2 different mounting angles. Bolt all the way through the top hole. That's the 'pivot point'.

Yeah, those aren't going to work for you. I'll tell you what, since they are just junk for you, go ahead and send them to me and I'll put them to good use. I'll even split the cost of shipping with you.
Just kidding. I think the post above mine will give you the needed info. Good luck.

I would chase out the threads on the bike frame with a tap first. It will make bolting the brackets to the frame much easier.

You need the set screw. Go to your local MoCo, have them do a kit breakdown of the part # and order just the set screws you need. Those are what I run BTW.

Pick a few up at your local hardware store: If I remember correctly they were 3/8-16 x 3/4"
