What I want to do is remove the bullet turn signal lights that are mounted to my handlebars and just use the mirrors as my running lights/turn signals.
The bike is a 2016 FXDL.
The local HD dealership originally said this can be done, but now theyre saying they cant do it... After I bought the mirrors
Ask them if they will put the sig mirrors on in addition to your stock sigs.
Then take the stock sigs off when you get home.
the mirrors are going on for sure... but they said the turn signal will not function properly without the stock lights hooked up. So they say... I dont trust them. Just wondering if anyone here has experience with this type of install/removing stock signals
Though looking at Harley's web-store that is definitely the ones that should fit your bike. I would definitely ask them why they can't when the factory website shows they are correct.

oh, the mirrors will work just fine! I am trying to REMOVE the stock front turn signal/running lights and just run the mirrors... thats the issue. The mirrors are going on, just want to ditch the stock lights!
I had the same mirrors in my Dyna with no bullets. A few things you should know.
1. They work fine, but the indicator light on your dash will flash fast. The mirrors will flash normal.
2. They aren't very bright in daylight. The turn signals will not be seen by other drivers in the brightest sun.
Consider adding small LED TS on your trees if you are concerned about your turn signals being seen.
I did this mod myself..bullets in the trash..theres separate harness in the frame that are just for secondary signals which the hd mirrors plug into and you actually just cut off the signals and wire is hidden in the controls as said previous the can bus system handles the rapid flash issue no problem the instructions are fairly informative also
the service manager just called me for an update. apparently in the 2016 FXDLS, there is nowhere to plug the signal mirrors into the stock harness. I guess they are going to have to splice into the turn signals which will allow me to remove the stock signal lights. He said they will have more info on tuesday, the next day theyre open. Im starting to wish I just installed them myself.
yikes no way you can get the bike home and save yourself some cash? always remember that you can google any Harley part# and instructions and youl get the instructions and break down of part#s that are in the kit or parts you buy.. the lights come with many different connectors and pins so the lights can work on just about any model..
