damn man great build so far id love to see some more pics of your bike a side shot etc.... killer.
I have read on these forums that the brake pads do not completely touch the brake disc when using the brembos on none brembo bikes. Something to do with the location of the mounts on the forks.
Can you please tell us if your pads are running on the complet surface of the disc ? If the caliper sits to high the top part of the pads do not run on the disc or maybe the angle of the caliper, cant recall what it was.
Thanks
It's not the "Brembo on Non-Brembo bikes" problem, it's a popular swap with an accompanying change to 11.8" (300mm) rotors except for 06-later Dynas. Only 06-later Dyna models changed the caliper mounting locations to accommodate the increase in rotor size to 11.8" instead of redesigning the calipers (like all other models) when changing from 11.5" to 11.8"
Thus you don't see it a lot on 06-later Dynas
The Poster should expect the Unswept area shown below to be eliminated and possibly the the pad to overhang the rotor slightly or least into the Radiused/Chamfered outer diameter. Either of which is not an ideal situation
@JustNick
Which exact fairing did you get for you FXDLS? I have beeen having troubles finding one that fits well on our bike and do not want to buy the wrong one.
BTW, you are right, these are some great rides HD put out. I had the pleasure of being off a whole week after buying mine brand new. Took me 4 days to put on over 1000 miles. It was awesome.
Anyone else having issues with oil coming out from the rear rocker box area. I have changed the oil on my bike a few times already, I very, very carefully measured how much oil I put in. So I know for fact it is not over filled.
Oil appears to be coming out of the air intake area, as well as at the rear of the rear cylinder rocker box gasket.
A little irritating having this issue already, I just traded in my Iron 883 that I beat the snot out of and never skipped a beat.
@averagegeekinkc
Its the Conely's Retro T-Sport Fairing 14" for 49mm I had to remove all the mounting hardware from the Harley fairing and the conely's bolted right up and it is adjustable so you can put it right where you want it.
Just picked mine up yesterday. First Harley. So far, so good. Will the front brake get stronger as it beds in or should I look for better pads? (sorry, no quality pics yet)
I did some hard braking practice on mine right away and the brakes are awesome now.

You have changed it a few times already? Damn! How mine miles do you have on it now?
