I need to extend my brake lines to reach the apes i installed last fall on my 1999 Dyna Low Rider and in the process of tearing apart the front end, the line leading up to the master cylinder bent and broke on me. Ive never changed out brake lines so my question is...
Do I need to find an entire stock dual front brake line kit with the upper and lower lines to swap out the broken one with or does a universal kit get rid of that part that screws in under the tree? The lines on JPCycle all have a nut on the lines that gets tightened to another line so It seems like I have to do away with my current setup but Im really not sure.
I really have no clue what im looking at or where to begin with extending my lines right now so any help is greatly appreicated! Thank you!
pretty sure the universal kit is only for single disc systems. You need to buy a dual disc setup that has a new splitter (thing under your trees) Check out magnum shielding.
btw, the only line that nedes to be extended is the brake line from the master cylinder to that splitter/diverter.

I have checked out magnum shielding and the only thing I dont like is that they dont carry a cheap, regular line similar to stock. I would want black and that only comes in what looks like a black stainless and wouldnt match my other vinyl cables.
Would I be better off buying the whole stock system on ebay and just crimping a longer line on? or what do you think?
