Sorry for the lack on information in the OP. The bike is an 05 FXDC. I touched the cut wires together and each time it would go from A trip to B trip. When I would disconnect them it went back to reading what it always read. I think I was worried over nothing. Or at least I hope so. Thanks for the link to the button. I'll get one on order asap.

U can get a new trip button at Harley. They are about $10. I just bought 2 of them.
