Well long story short. My power regulator went out and sent to much power to my bike. As a result. My speedometer and tac no longer work. So I'm in the market for a new one. The Pic below is the setup I have. But I want to-do something different. Maybe put a speed/tac combo on the top and use the 2nd spot for the key. I don't know, what do you guys think? I would really like to put the speed/tac on the handle bars so im not always looking down.
Can you guys suggest anything and/or post photos of your setup
Not sure if you're considering non-HD-specific parts, but I'm fitting one of these Acewell analog tach/digital speedo units to an old BMW airhead I'm rebuilding. They have all the usual idiot lights on their face and come in various configs (mine's a 9000rpm unit, but they also sell 6000 and 12000rpm units, and they also come in chrome). It seems very well made, reasonably straightforward to fit and wire up.
If money was no object though, I'd have gotten the german-made Motogadget Chronoclassic tach/speedo unit
I went with the Dakota Digital MCL 3200. I like the digital look and it is speedo and tach in one with many options. Hope this link works. Look around, you can find it cheaper than directly from them though. http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod/prd684.htm

I really wish you didn't do that, lol. I've been eyeballing this gauge since I bought my bike.

Vic, Indeed it is pricey, but these are truly some of the finest gauge setups you can get.
If you check several sites you can find it cheaper than buying direct from Dakota Digital. It is pricey but I love mine, easy plug and play, only tricky part is setting the low fuel indicator. Besides, the blue led matches the bike. lol
