My new FXDL-S has the cut Street Bob style fender with the side mounted plate and only two run/brake/turn stalks. I'm a big fan of visibility, and two puny sigs as a brake light aren't going to do it for me. Even with the Custom Dynamics LED inserts, I need more. I was originally thinking about buying a full fender with a proper tail light, but I came across several auxiliary brake lights that may work.
Now that I think about it, I don't think any add on brake light will work. I think if I tap off them for the brake light, it'll bright with the sigs as well as the brake. Not so good..
I may have to either leave it alone, or see if I can find a wiring diagram and if the connector from the BCM has a dedicated tail light connector like the rest of the Dyna's that I can use maybe. But I don't think there's a service manual for the S yet...
Edit: Just saw your last post... A lesson to read the thread before I answer! I believe you can use the Custom Dynamics turn / run / brake plate frame, and just tap the appropriate wires.... That'll give you two of everything.... Can't beat that for high visibility!
Congrats on the new bike!

We just mounted turn signals to the tail light of an 10' street bob. It would be pretty easy to mount the tail light on your bike and your signals to the tail light, not sure how about the wiring. In this setup the blinkers function as brakes with all three bulbs lighting up together when no signal is used. When a signal is used the brake light and other blinker operate as brake lights together. It puts out a lot of light and looks factory.
I think a full fender would be the way to go, I certainly wouldn't recommend the Great Bike Gear anything, I may be one of very few but I'm not impressed with the kit for the money I spent, not to mention their customer service wasn't that "great".
I'm sure what you do that bike, it'll look good.
