I did try that reset procedure of pressing the flasher buttons back and forth. This had no effect at all. Any ideas?

Newer FI bikes have protection for reversal of the battery but you basically thru the battery into arc weld to the frame at the positive lug and the load went back thru all the negative wires back to the negative terminal on the battery. Any electronic item, alarm, ignition, signal light, speedometer all could have been seriously affected. I would isolate all out till I got the key switch to act normal and get motor running Then work on the more complicated. You may want to check your insurance. This could be something simple or quite expensive.

One thing I found quite strang, I removed the TSSM module and yet the flashers still flash back and firth and the odometer still bounces around when you put the key on. Its like the anti theft device is locked on? Anyone else have any ideas?. Thanks

Only see this one time but is was just lately..Never seen an answer. It appears, if the TSSM cannot be disarmed due to malfunction or of course someone not know the code, it leaves the in your case ignition modual..on a FI bike, it would be ECM, disabled. Can get real complicated. Only the dealer upper management and their equipment would be able to get around this.

I guess Ill go by the dealer and ask if they have any idea on this. Anyone know how to test the TSSM?

It will read out error codes thru the speedometer but that would need to be functioning. You would need to have the electrical diagnostic manual. My 2004 would work but it way to complicated to feed you all the trouble shooting on here. Just reading it would appear even if you had it refers back to their digital tech computer system so much, even if you had the book would do you little good.

Thanks Ripsaw, After looking at the wiring diagram it has me a bit stumped. I was under the impression the TSSM would be the unit that controls anything to do with the anti theft part, Yet when I remove it. I still get get the flashers flashing back and forth and the siren chirping. once it stops if you bump the bike it does it again. I'm pretty sure the problem would be in the module controlling this. I just don't know what it is or where it is?. Any ideas.

Sure you are really removing the TSSM. It replaces the TSM (turn signal module ) The TSSM then becomes the control for the turn signals, alarm, siren control if attached, bank angle (engine disable) and system malfunction. Could be different then my 04 since yours is carb and has no ECM. Maybe your alarm system is separate from signal system. However, a carb system in 2004 has no 32 pin ECM control but does have the 12 pin ICM (ignition control module) The TSSM /Speedometer/ICM are all intertwined.
My TSSM with big white plug with the attachment area for the alarm and its plug just below it not used...
Does your alarm appear to be on?

Based on the exploded view here: http://www.stcharlesharleydavidson.c...03B%5cT61%5cGE

It looks like it's under the seat. Not sure tho. Mine doesn't have security.
