Default Clutch Cable/Lever Free Play .. No Can Do ..HELP

ok .. my turn to tap into the experience of the forum .. as part of my laundry lists of mods .. i am in the middle of changing out the bars .. risers and levers on my 2015 FXDL .. bike sits on a bike jack and clutched fine when it rested there ..

i have the cable adjusted FULL OUT .. and i still have considerable tension at the lever .. where do i go from here to make it right .. (FYI .. i do have a manual .. didn't find fix) .. TIA

Set it on the ground and start over at the pushrod adjuster.

Full out, meaning the cable sheath is as long as it can get, or as short as it can get? Longer (more threads showing) = tighter.

Might have to adjust the clutch itself. Simple. Its in the manual.

Yeah that's what got me too,, "full out" will remove all play from the lever,, turn it in man. And when you start getting close a 1/4 turn will make or break the sweet spot,,

Cable should be almost fully collapsed when adjusting the clutch pack. Once the push rod/release plate is adjusted in the clutch pack... then expand the clutch cable back out.

One thing they never tell you til it's too late: When the tension is loose on a clutch adjustment, never pull in the lever or you may very well 'flip the cam' under the clutch actuation cover on the right side of the bike where the cable enters the tranny case.
