PJ1 is good stuff... nail it down tonight... I know that you can!
Maybe not. I have a problem that I have all too often. The tube is too big for the hole!!! Man I can't get the spray tube into the bent cable guide. There I called a Harley earlier and said they have a bunch, I just didn't want to deal with the shore traffic coming home. If you remember the super storm sandy news clips of the Jetstar roller coaster sitting in the ocean, I live 2 miles from there. Traffic this time of year is nuts. I may head up to that Harley first thing in the am.
PJ1 Blue Label is what I use on my chain. It goes on like water and coagulates into molasses. It's colorless and safe for rubber.
Good stuff. Should make an excellent cable lube if you can get into the sheath. A rag to keep the blowback under control might be helpful.
Yes... wrap a rag around the cables and the switch housing and slowly ease it in to the cables, take your time, no rush; work the cables back and forth as you drool the PJ1 lube in to the cables. The PJ1 is a great lube and will work well, it was what I used on my cables and chains until I found the Du Pont Teflon...
So I'm waving the white flag at this point. I picked up the Harley lube with the needle. It's still binding. Now it's worse than before I started. I can't help but think that small kink in the idle cable has something to do with it. It's going in a local Indy shop with two Harley Ph.D on Tuesday. They left my dealer to start their own gig. I'm not thrilled about riding it like that, but I gotta get it there
sorry to hear that. You gave it a valiant effort and maintained a good attitude throughout. Kudo to you!
Hopefully the shop can get it sorted cheaply and quickly. Let us know what they find.
Absolutely! Way to show some serious stones, you didn't give it up easily. Nicely done! That kink in the cable in the image you've posted could potentially be your issue. I'm certainly not one who yells, 'warranty', but with your bike being so new I can see no reason for an issue in a cable like what you've got. I agree, please let us know how this plays out... then we'll get to work on your external breathers
Ok, so it is the kink in the cable. Unfortunately they don't have stock cables on hand. I told them to order it, and I would try it myself. If I F*ck it up, I'll just have them order a second one and have them do it.
