It's legal in CA, so I would think you'll be fine once the adjuster sees where the damage to her car occurred. It should be painfully obvious that she ran into you.

She`ll probably retain a slick lawyer and slide out of it somehow, and/or cost you more money than it`s worth in court. I have a feeling both insurance companies will want to distance themselves from any litigation.... Let us know how things turn out.
