I purchased a new leftover 2015 back in March. For the most part, I love it. However, the bags are way too small for me. I ride to work when I can and was hoping to carry my laptop in it. I have to take it out of the case before it will fit. Also, no cruise control makes longer rides uncomfortable. But I love the way it handles. I'm 6' 1", so I have no problem with the location of the forward floorboard.

I did chrome it up a bit. Wheels, primary cover, engine guard, etc...

Next bike will likely be a RG, but for now, I'll probably hang on to my FLD.

Here area a couple of pics of my FLD

If the bike fits and feels right and the performance is what you want then I usually don't look at the price unless it's just stupid high.

I wouldn't be swayed into buying something that wasn't what I wanted just because of a perceived value issue.

If you liked the FLD and RK the same amount then that is different.

Just my $.02 worth...

I agree the bags are too small. I'm still looking for someone to produce a stretched bag for the SB.

I love my FLD. Took me by suprise actually. I was out killing some time test riding a bunch of bikes. Stopped by the Harley dealer and asked for some test rides but only to get a feel for other bikes. I had it made up in my mind that I couldn't afford a Harley. They had a 2014 FLD with only 17xx miles on it. Took her for a 5 miles test ride and was sold immediately. Rode away from the dealership and to my planned weekend stay in Monterrey, CA (~200 miles from Sacramento). What I noticed right away was the vibration in 6th gear around 3K RPM. Still a great ride though. When I got back, put a new intake and Thunderheader slip-on and now it sounds and pulls like a beast. It also solved the vibration issue that I had.

All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase. Totally took me by surprise as I said because I just wanted to get a feel for the bike. This was the only bike that when I got off of it, there was no doubt that's what I wanted
